Kenneth Aidoo (°1988, Amsterdam)
Kenneth Aidoo (Amsterdam, 1988) is a multidisciplinary artist. He studied VAV at the Gerrit Rietveld (2019) Academie and Film at The Netherlands Film Academy, both in Amsterdam. Aidoo works across various disciplines, employing each to engage in a conversation about what it means to be of African descent. His video installations grapple with the complexities of the shared history and heritage of the African diaspora, his series of painted portraits bring often-forgotten diasporic narratives to the fore. Through this historical rectification, his work elucidates that an erasure of history is untenable—and any attempt to do so cannot be neglected.
