Laurens Legiers
Overview
Laurens Legiers (°1994 Antwerp, Belgium) paints by heart. As he abandons the use of photos or techniques such as perception, he lets his memories determine the image. Although his painted subjects are often used as study objects elsewhere, here the details are literally forgotten, thus creating an individual visual language. At the same time, the images are universal and easily recognizable because of their sculpted volume. The smooth, round painting technique and the romantic background convey an idealized representation of reality.
