What if a coffee pot says more about our lives than we suspect? In Lien Buysens' work, domestic forms are stripped down and recreated into images that balance between recognition and abstraction. Her still lifes feature bowls, flowers, and jugs to embrace the everyday in a warm and tactile materiality. With attention and a playful seriousness, Buysens transforms a flower bowl into a rhythmic interplay of planes, lines, and color.

The studio and daily rituals flow into one another—her works often reflect elements from domestic life. It is a place where everything is shared, where things are usually palpable, where warmth reigns; a place of connection.
